7 Things To-Do During Covid-Isolation Times (Holistic Approach)
Mind-Body-Spirit: This is total balance!
A great thing to remember during any isolation time is that it can be used as an opportunity for great growth, if you allow it to be! It is a great time to escape the usual day-to-day routine and re-gain holistic balance. Obviously, everything in this list is subject to how you feel, so please listen to your body!
If you are relatively well during an isolation period, then you can find various tasks to fulfil your time. A good, well-balanced set of tasks can be set. One idea is to organise a timetable for the following day/set of days. This brings some interest to the mind when each day arrives. Find something for all parts of you (mind-body-spirit) to do. The growth can come in the gentle exercise of mind; the resting/re-balancing of the body; and perhaps some intuitive work. You could even reinvent yourself completely! A job search; the start of a new business; some new hobbies or lifestyle planning! Let’s look at some basic ideas: –
1: The mind can be occupied by puzzles: –
Jigsaws, Crosswords, Word Search, Sudoku… If people are isolating together, then any amazingly fun game can be played.
2: Creative tasks: –
Designing, writing, sketching, painting, knitting/sewing, model-making, cooking/baking…
3: Unfinished Jobs: –
If there is a task you have been meaning to do for a while that you’re able to focus on, such as a simple tidying-up or some decorating; the fixing of something, DIY (safely), then it could be a time of opportunity.
4: Reading a Book
If you are needing to rest more, then the reading of a book (or two) is usually something most people don’t get time to do, so seize that opportunity!
5: Meditation
If you have the chance to switch your mind off, then MEDITATION is a fantastic tool for mindfulness. There are various types of meditations: The type that aids with healing of mind and body, or aids with “bad habits.” Meditation and Hypnotherapy are closely linked, as they both access the mind whilst you are in a good state of calm/relaxation. There is also the type of meditation that develops your spirit/intuition. Many people have already discovered apps for legitimate meditations, but there are a tonne on You Tube. I would just listen to them initially to see if you like the voice and their viewpoints. The voice needs to be one that you can find comfort in. Then there are the various subjects they can focus upon for you. Some offer calm or aid for anxiety (your body heals so much easier when you are relaxed). Some can help you to focus simply on healing!
6: Yoga!
With technology offering all occasions of activities, your body, mind and spirit/energy may benefit from a gentle session of follow-along-YOGA. Yoga can certainly aid in balance and calm with some good, gentle movement to get the lymph functioning better in order to aid healing.
7: Simply Catching up with Rest!
People can live busy lives of long working hours, taking care of families, and hard gym sessions/long runs. Sometimes it is good to have the opportunity to rest the body. This is gaining in itself. Sometimes a rest is very much appreciated! If you are unwell, it is vital to rest, or to do things gently anyway!
