Mental Health Truly Does Matter!
Mind Health is important. WE tend to live day-to-day with the same patterns and behaviours until issues arise. I believe that awareness of overall health is so beneficial. WE are a mind and body, that is alive with real energy…
What we think, say and do creates feelings and behaviours. Our thoughts, words and actions can create feelings in our bodies. There are many books on the power of the mind and how it impacts our lives. I have personal experience of the observations of the mind and body connection. I am living evidence that the mind strongly affects the body and that the body strongly affects the mind. I am also living evidence that feelings affect the mind and body.
Where did I start? The mind! Noticing the impact on the body (and mind!), I corrected my thoughts, words and actions. When I noticed the impact on my body, I worked on the body’s influence on the mind… The simplicity of a relaxed breath, or the release of unnecessary tension has a wonderful impact on the mind (and body of course). We are also impacted by the influences of other people’s words, beliefs and actions if we choose to take on their beliefs and values. It is vital (in my opinion) to master our own mind and body so that we are the “deciders” of who we truly are. We can get stuck in patterns that can impact us either negatively or positively. I certainly know which one I prefer.
It is important to look at ourselves holistically.
This is some starter-point advice: –
The mind:
Be aware of your thoughts. For every negative thought – just stop! Think of a comforting, loving thought that heals the negative thought, and repeat that in your mind several times. It is important to know that you are the one that needs to live within your mind, so treat yourself with love! Negative thinking can just be habitual, with some of it not being true to the present moment. Some extra points to make are:
-Don’t allow people to live in your head who aren’t worthy.
-Always be kind and loving in your thoughts about yourself (Don’t be hard on yousrelf).
-Know that negative circumstances aren’t worth your health!
-Know that we are all in this together, learning and growing at different rates.
-Dont allow other peoples criticisms to form an opinion of yourself. You are the one who decides who you are!
-Look to solve a “problem” and foresee a good outcome.
-Let the past go! It doesn’t exist any more. Look at what and who surrounds you right now and build on that.
-Be grateful and expect the best outcome.
-Learn to love life, just as you did when you were that discovering, excitable child!
-This life is temporary and every challenge is temporary, yet bringing opportunity for great growth!
-Meditate! This connects mind, body, energy.
-Love the process of this life! It is a Gift!
The body:
Know that your body works so much better when in a relaxed and happy state!
-Refer to what thoughts are causing your tension and compare it to how your body feels! Work on the negative thoughts, or find a professional who can help you to work on them.
-Yoga can help the connections
-See how your body feels with particular thoughts. Become aware of the connection and use thoughts and words that make you feel more comfortable.
The Energy/Spirit
I believe our feelings speak to us. If we feel what is comfortable and what isn’t, then we can establish what works for us holistically. Here is a great tool that I use:
-Visualise the letters to the words “Love.” Place the L – O – V-E into the top of your head, allowing it to fill your body.
-Visualise the same letters and place them in a room in huge letters, then walk into that visualisation of words. Accept the word into your body and mind.
-Meditation and Yoga are great tools too for this element of us.
- Energy is real! – The frequency we reside in can attract the same frequency of energy, therefore events and people that dwell in the same frequency! If we live in a frustrated, angry or disliking mind-set, then we are attracting a life that will continue to manifest the same. I know that a lower frequency isn’t a very pleasant “way” when compared to a higher frequency – which attracts a better life circumstance. If we can tip the balance with more of a positive outlook, with comfortable, loving feelings, then we are doing extremely well! We need to be honest about our feelings in order to earn from them, but always send yourself love and look for the joy in life!
