Positive Thinking

I never knew the importance of the awareness of “thought.” It is truly the difference between happiness and sadness, confidence and shyness, courage and fear. I love the comparison to the film: “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” When you understand that thoughts and words create beliefs, which create our behaviours, we can see traits in ourselves once we are aware of these.

I once noticed the difference of thought-and-word between a friend and I. This is a simple example, but such a valid one: –

I had a habit of thinking fearfully for events I was partaking in. Where I was fearful, my friend was excited. I would think “uh-oh, yikes,” where he would think “wow, exciting!” I could see that he was having fun with the idea, but my thoughts and words were creating fear. His actions were bold and energetic. Mine were nervously energetic, yet I was pleased when these events were over. Once I realised the difference, I decided to change my outlook on things and chose to be excited – and instead, feeling the fun! With this, my confidence also built.

We realise as we age, that others influence our thoughts, which create the self-belief. When we are older and become aware of the psychology of things, it is useful to recognise where we may have been influenced over time. It is important not to blame others for our gathering of thoughts, belief and actions however. Everyone is born into a particular system and group of influencers. We’re all here to grow and evolve, which is why we need to take responsibility for our own way of thinking. Our parents are innocent, as they are also only human, growing and evolving at their rate and taking on thoughts, words and actions that they developed.

Although there is so much more to the subject, I just wanted to touch on the “AWARENESS of THOUGHT.” Recognise the fearful, angry, jealous, sad thoughts – and stop!… Ask yourself how you feel with those thoughts. Trust me – your body doesn’t like that kind of negativity. Neither does your consciousness. Is that negativity worth your health? Nope! You’ve got to love yourself. Once you learn to love yourself and take responsibility for your internal happiness, peace, and self-respect – by seeking out thoughts, words and actions that bring these positive emotions – then you will help yourself to live a better life, with a healthier mind, body and level of energy.

I always hear people say “it’s not as easy as that.” I want to say that it is all about seeking peace within. Work on that inner-self. Seek peace, harmony, internal-love and happiness. If everyone did that – starting with themselves, then what a wonderful world this would be!

Blessings to you all.
